Suspect in Officer-Involved Shooting had Lengthy Criminal History

According to court records, Eric Landers had been charged 15 different times before his run in with law enforcement in December.

On Dec. 14, 38-year-old Eric Landers assaulted three people and stole two cars in a rampage that ended when Landers turned himself in near Uptown. After his arrest, Landers was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery, all felonies.

But court appearances and run-ins with the law are fairly common for the Brooklyn Center resident.

According to Minnesota court records, Landers has been charged with 15 different crimes between 1992 and 2010.

In February of 1992, Landers was found guilty of third-degree burglary and two counts of theft. After completing probation in 1996, in 1997, Landers was found guilty of possessing a dangerous weapon, for which he had to pay a fee. That same year, he was charged and found guilty of criminal property damage.

In 1998, Landers was convicted of third-degree burglary again and was sentenced to four years of probation, though he still was charged with various crimes three times during those years.

Landers got in trouble with drugs in 2007 when he was charged with fifth-degree drug possession, a crime that got him one year of probation and 90 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse.

Most recently, in 2010, Landers was charged and found guilty of drug possession and violating window tint rules.
