Police: Man Posed as Aide, Had Sex With Brain-Damaged Woman

Corey Gordon, 42, faces a charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Prosecutors accuse a Minneapolis man of posing as brain-damaged woman’s personal care attendant during sessions at the Courage Center and repeatedly having sex with her, WCCO reported.

Corey Gordon, 42, faces a charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The TV station, quoting the criminal complaint, said Gordon met the victim at the Mall of America. The 32-year-old Bloomington woman has a rare brain disease, and multiple miniature strokes have left her with the cognitive and emotional ability of a third-or fourth-grader.

The family asked him not to contact her. However, the woman’s mother showed up to the Courage Center one day to be told that her daughter’s personal care attendant (PCA) was there—even though she didn’t have one.

The mother saw that the presumed PCA was actually Gordon.

The daughter later told investigators that he’d had sex with her and taken photos and videos of them in the act.

Gordon, who’s been required to register as a predatory offender for several years, is being held in Hennepin County jail on a $200,000 bail, according to jail records.
