Police Blotter: 10 of 13 Arrests for Driving Illegally

Golden Valley Police spent much of last week stopping people who aren't allowed to be behind the wheel.

Of the 13 adults arrested by Golden Valley Police from March 21-27, 10 shouldn't have been driving.

"Police generally pull people over for speeding or wreckless driving," says Joanne Paul, crime analyst with the .  "It's when they run the licenses that they find suspensions and other reasons the individual should not be behind the wheel."

Only two of all 13 people arrested last week were actually from Golden Valley. Still, some have complained about speed traps along Golden Valley Road, where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour. But Golden Valley Police say the city doesn't set speed limits and that officers aren't given quotas for traffic stops.
