News Conference On Drownings Today

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office will have a news conference at 1 p.m. today at its Minneapolis office to address the recent Plymouth drownings and water safety.

Following two drownings in Plymouth yesterday, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department will have a 1 p.m. news conference today at its offices in Minneapolis.

The conference will provide a chance to discuss drownings that have occurred in Hennepin County this year and provide important safety reminders to prevent drownings. 

A 17-year-old teenager drowned last month in Wirth Lake in Golden Valley.

The conference is in the  Sheriff’s Office Civil Training Room near Room No. 22 at Minneapolis City Hall, 350 S. 5th Street in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has not released the names or cause of death of the two people who drowned in an outdoor swimming pool Monday at the Lancaster Village Apartments in Plymouth.
