A Robbinsdale man is accused of pursuing his ex-girlfriend in a car chase through the streets of St. Louis Park, attempting to ram her vehicle and shouting threats from his window.

Nathan Michael Campbell is charged with one felony count of terroristic threats and one count of gross misdemeanor stalking.

Campbell’s ex-girlfriend told police that on the morning of July 5, she had been talking with a male co-worker in the parking lot of her workplace when Campbell approached, first threatening her co-worker with a fight, then speaking with her.

According to the criminal complaint, Campbell repeatedly tried to ram her vehicle—at least three times—forcing her to evade by swerving onto the shoulder, tailgating her and then speeding past her and slamming on the brakes.

“I have nothing to lose,” Campbell shouted out his window, according to the complaint. “See what happens when I get out of here.

Around 8:30 a.m., Campbell’s girlfriend called police. When a state patrol officer arrived, she pulled over to the side of the road.

Her hands were shaking and she appeared to be crying, police said. She said she feared for her safety during the chase.

Campbell, who was driving with a suspended license, told police he was just following her to a Perkin’s.

Campbell was arrested at the scene and is booked in Hennepin County Jail on $30,000 bail.
