Nearby News: Golden Valley Helped With Plymouth Apartment Fire

The fire call came in around 4 a.m. and firefighters from across the metro came to put out the fire.

Emergency crews from across the metro including Golden Valley, were on hand Friday morning, July 12, to help with a four-alarm fire at the Vicksburg Village apartment complex in Plymouth.

About 20 families watched as their homes were damaged by fire, smoke and water. The fire was a ferocious one for emergency crews. Flames leaped around 30 feet in the air and smoke billowed out around the middle part of one apartment building in the large complex on Rockford Road. Luckily, no one was injured. The building that was damaged was at 15750 Rockford Road.

The building with the fire has its balconies facing out to Rockford Road and is on the west end of the complex close to Vicksburg Lane. Traffic was backed up during the morning commute as part of Rockford Road was closed and traffic was diverted to Old Rockford Road.
