Man Arrested for Fleeing Police, Drug Possession

A routine traffic stop led to felony drug charges.

During a rainy day on Dec. 15, a Golden Valley police officer noticed that a person driving down Duluth Street failed to turn on his headlights and had no right brake light.

Upon pulling the driver over, the man, a 33-year-old Brooklyn Park resident, ran from the vehicle, according to a Golden Valley police incident report.

After resisting arrest, the Brooklyn Park man was found to be in possession of controlled substances and had an outstanding felony warrant for arrest.

The suspect was arrested on nine different charges, including fifth-degree drug possession, which is a felony offense.
