Man Admits to Stealing From Local Store, Pleads Guilty to Robbing Bank

Minneapolis resident Donte Hollister admitted to stealing from Golden Valley's Way To Go Sports store last fall. Hollister faces up to 25 years in prison for committing armed robbery.

On Sept. 18, Donte Hollister, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of armed bank robbery, according to the United States Attorney's Office.

According to statement released by the United States Attorney's Office and the United States Department of Justice, last fall, Hollister used a gun to force a US Bank teller to give him $1,890. Hollister also admitted to robbing four other local stores, including Golden Valley's Way To Go Sports store. 

In addition to the $300 he stole from the Golden Valley store on Sept. 26, 2011, the statement revealed that Hollister stole approximately $200 from the Wine Styles store in Medina; attempted to steal cash from the Mattress Giant store in Roseville; and attempted to steal cash from the Second Wind Exercise Equipment store in St. Louis Park.

In each robbery, Hollister used a gun to threaten store workers.

According to the statement, Hollister faces a potential maximum penalty of 25 years in prison for armed bank robbery.
