$50K Reward for Solving Two ‘Tragic and Senseless Crimes’

Investigators are still looking for the person responsible for two murders in 1995 and 1996.

Golden Valley police are still trying to discover the person responsible for two related murders that have remained unsolved for nearly two decades, a Thursday news release announced.

Someone shot Loren Busse to death Aug. 30, 1995, while biking home from work at about 10:30 p.m. His body was found near the intersection of Mendelssohn Avenue North and Plymouth Avenue. Then someone fatally shot Daniel Neus while he was walking his dog on the 3300 block of Major Ave. N. at about 11:55 p.m. Feb. 6, 1996.

Evidence links the two crimes together.

“Almost two decades have passed since these tragic and senseless crimes, with no justice for the victims and no resolution for their families,” a Golden Valley news release stated.

The Police Department and the Golden Valley Crime Prevention Fund are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of whoever is responsible for the murders.

Anyone with information can call the Golden Valley Police Department Tip Line at 763-512-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 651-452-7463. Callers can remain anonymous.
