Former Golden Valley Elementary School Teacher Passes Away
A service is 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Parkshore Senior Campus, 3663 Park Center Blvd in St. Louis Park.
Ruth Elizabeth Halverson, 97, of St. Louis Park passed away in her home at Parkshore Senior Campus.
According to a Star Tribune obituary, Halverson was born July 26, 1916, in Minneapolis. She grew up during the Great Depression. She entered the workforce after high school and pursued higher education later in her life at age 49 at the University of Minnesota. She graduated in 1969 and became an elementary school teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary School in Golden Valley.
Her legacy exemplifies her belief that individuals have a responsibility to contribute to society through action.
