'Cowgirl and a Lawyer,' Golden Valley Woman Passes Away at Age 62

Memorial services are 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, and 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at different locations.

Jeanne Walters Sayers, 62, of Golden Valley, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 21, 2013, due to complications of lung cancer, according to an online obituary.

She was a lawyer and an insurance professional, but first of all, she was a cowgirl.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law, Sayers practiced law for 10 years and then joined her father at his independent insurance agency, Rockford Metro West, states the obituary.

She was warm, caring, generous, spontaneous and stubborn. Her passion was riding horses, particularly her Arabian, Phar. She was a wonderful wife, sister, daughter, and friend to so many, according to Legacy.com.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Road S., in St. Louis Park with a visitation one hour prior to service at the church. There is also a service from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. and Hwy. 100 in Edina, according to the obituary on Legacy.com.
