District 46 Meet Up on Immigration

Judy Stuthman is very knowledgeable about the topic of immigration. She chaired the League of Women Voters Minnesota Immigration Study of 2001 - 2003 and for this work received the Hope Washburn Award in 2003.  As a League volunteer lobbyist, she has followed immigration bills at the state legislature for the past 10 years and will also be following the 2014 legislation to raise the minimum wage (the League supports this).  She coordinates voting registration for new citizens, and last year the League registered 8,500 new citizens to vote at their naturalization ceremonies.  A member of LWV for over 40 years, once as State Co-President, Judy worked with refugees both as a volunteer and as Associate Director of a Lutheran Church organization that worked with immigrants and refugees.

Meetups in District 46 (formerly 44) are currently guided by John Martin and Elaine Wynne, Storytellers, along with a host of other District 46 talent.  We are grateful for the people who come and the ones who do the small and large things to build community, expand their ability to express the messages and stories and take action to carry the messages forward.
