Downed trees and branches were reported around Hennepin County, including Golden Valley, St. Louis Park and Brooklyn Park.
The National Weather Service severe thunderstorm watch for the area, which expires at 10 p.m. A flood advisory, however, will remain in effect until 2 a.m., since runoff from heavy rainfall could quickly swell rivers and streams in the area.
