Slick Roads Cause Tuesday Morning Crashes Near Golden Valley

A rollover on Interstate 394 and a crash on Highway 169 added to the mess Tuesday morning.

Two days after Golden Valley and the metro area received almost a foot of snow, Tuesday morning commuters were still feeling the pain of a very slow drive into work.

"Double your expected commute and travel times," Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol told Patch, "and expect icy patches and slippery spots."

Slick roads caused havoc on Interstate 394 and Highway 169.

At 7:43 a.m., Minnesota Department of Transportation showed a rollover on westbound Interstate 394 near Louisiana Avenue. Roeske said that the incident was a single vehicle rollover without injuries, though it backed up traffic during rush hour.

A little after 8 a.m., a car crashed on southbound Highway 169 near Interstate 394, causing issues for those trying to drive into or through Golden Valley.

On Dec. 10, Roeske confirmed that in less than 48 hours, Minnesota's winter weather caused 637 crashes, including one fatal crash.

What was your drive into work like? Tell us in the comments.
