Oscar Flashback: When Was Golden Valley Involved in an Award Winning Film?

In celebration of Oscar Sunday, find out what Academy Award nominated film was shot in Golden Valley.

When A Simple Plan was released in 1998, Golden Valley residents got a taste of what it’s like to be famous. Kind of.

The movie, starring Bill Paxton Billy Bob Thornton, Bridget Fonda was nominated for two Oscars and a number of other awards, including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

According to the Internet Movie Database, part of the movie was filmed in Golden Valley and Delano. The movie website gives this summary of A Simple Plan:

When three blue collar acquaintances come across millions of dollars in lost cash they make a plan to keep their find from the authorities but find complications and mistrust weaving its way into their plan.
