MnDOT Begins Hwy 100 Signing Project

Since last Wednesday, crews have been replacing or improving road signs along the Golden Valley stretch of Hwy 100.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation began a routine Highway 100 improvement project Wednesday. Signs in both directions between Highway 55 and Vernon Ave/ W 50th will be replaced or repaired.

The project is what MnDOT spokesperson Bre Magee dubs  "low impact," indicating it will effect traffic flow only slightly.

Crews will work primarily overnight and during non-rush hours Monday through Friday. Occasional lane or shoulder closures may occur.

Drivers are encouraged to check their routes at the MnDOT travel information website 511.mn.org, and to plan for traffic slow downs accordingly.

"The majority of problems occur when people are in too big of a hurry," said State Patrol Lieutenant Eric Roeske. "Ultimately, [staying safe] comes down to planning ahead and having some patience."
