Minneapolis, Golden Valley Ice Rinks Open Dec. 26

In a statement by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, officials say that the recent stretch of cold temperatures has allowed crews to open some rinks beginning Dec. 26 in time for league play, and all rinks by Jan. 1, weather permitting.
According to the statement, the only rink open as of Dec. 24 is the hockey rink at McRae Park. The daily status of each of the MPRB’s 47 rinks at 22 parks can be viewed online throughout the season at www.minneapolisparks.org/rinks.
The City of Golden Valley announced that Dec. 26 would be a tentative opening date for local rinks.
