Local Man Named 'Best Dad on Wheels'
Steve Laux, a Courage Center volunteer from Maple Grove, wins 'The Best Dad on Wheels' competition.
The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation named a volunteer from Maple Grove ‘The Best Dad on Wheels’. Steve Laux, who was injured in a diving accident in 1998, received 4,500 votes during the online voting session.
Laux, a Medtronic marketing manager and father of three, says it was an honor to be part of a competition that draws attention to fathers living with a disability.
"I am most proud about being able to bring attention to the fact that there are these awesome dads that deal with the same challenges I deal with on a daily basis and don't let impact them being a father," Laux told the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

"I'm grateful to be able to share our family in hopes they bring a smile to your face and awareness that our diversity, or disability, can indeed make us stronger."
Laux will receive a $500 gift card from Tilt-A-Rack, a producer of mobility equipment.
