Golden Valley Residents to Show Classic Cars at Concours d’Elegance

Winston and Mary Jo Peterson and Steve Devitt will all have vehicles in the upcoming Excelsior car show.

There’s nothing like a classic car, and the inaugural 10,000 Lakes Concours d’Elegance promises to gather plenty of beautiful specimens for enthusiasts to marvel over. But Golden Valley residents might just recognize two of the vehicles.

Local residents Winston and Mary Jo Peterson plan to show their 1905 REO and 1929 Packard at the June auto show, while Steve Devitt will be there with his 1970 Volvo.

The Concours d’Elegance—which is French for “Competition of Elegance”—will showcase more than 100 collectible automobiles selected for their authenticity, beauty and style. Guests will also be able to enjoy local food and live music. John Birge and Michael Barone of Minnesota Public Radio will host the event.
