TwinWest Chamber of Commerce Appoints Brad Meier President

Meier will fill the seat vacated by former TwinWest President Bruce Nustad in August.

The TwinWest Chamber of Commerce announced Jan. 10 that it has selected Brad Meier to serve as its next president.

Former TwinWest Chamber of Commerce President Bruce Nustad stepped down in August 2012 after four years to become president of the Minnesota Retailers Association, the statewide trade group representing Minnesota’s retail industry.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am very excited to announce that Brad Meier will join TwinWest Chamber of Commerce on February 11, 2013 as President/CEO. I am especially excited that Brad is bringing his strong member-driven leadership abilities and extensive chamber experience to TwinWest.” TwinWest Board Chair Mike Sowada said.

The announcement came after a multi-stage selection process conducted by the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce.

“I’m excited to join the TwinWest Chamber. This organization has a strong track record and reputation of working on important issues for the business community. We plan to work closely with our current members and make a concerted effort to bring new businesses into the membership so that we can meet the ambitious goals set forth by the Board of Directors,” said Meier.

Meier brings more than 12 years of chamber experience, serving as President/CEO for the last nine years as the Owatonna Chamber of Commerce & Tourism. Prior to Owatonna, he served almost four years as the Executive Director of the River Falls, WI Chamber of Commerce. Meier has also served as a leader in the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Executives (MCCE), the statewide chamber leadership trade association.

”My experience leading chamber of commerce organizations for the last 12 years includes first-hand work advocating for business issues, expanding networking opportunities, supervising and evaluating staff, strategic planning and preparing budgets. Not to mention the day-to-day fast paced decision-making skills needed in a high energy position like this one.” Meier said.

The TwinWest Chamber of Commerce serves Plymouth, Golden Valley, Minnetonka, Hopkins, Medicine Lake, St. Louis Park, New Hope, Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park.
