Fun Finds at Golden Valley Gift Store

Patina opened its doors in Golden Valley last fall. Since then, co-owner Christine Ward says the city has been good to her store and its shoppers.

Pillows that look like logs on a fire. Pacifiers that come adorned with a mustache. Wine glasses that look more like mason jars. Sophisticated jewelry, soaps, lotion and scarves bring balance to the quirky atmosphere. These are the items that residents can find at .

The store , and since then, Co-owner Christine Ward said the move has been a positive one. 

"We have focused on being a family store where all family members feel comfortable," Ward said, noting that the changing environment and variety of products makes Patina different than other stores.

In a question and answer session with Patch, Ward said that affordability often surprises customers when they walk into Patina, so Patch set out to find the funkiest gifts for under $20.

1. Kikkerland Log Pillow ($16.95): Perfect to adorn a couch at a cabin, these pillows look like logs on a fireplace.

2. Redneck Wine Glass ($16.95): A mason jar with a wine glass stem and a tin can top, this glass would be a good gift for someone with country style.  

3. Itza Pump Portable Balloon Filling Station ($10.95): A jar of balloons and a pump all in one makes this an interesting accessory at any child's birthday party.

4. Mini Rhinestone Bracelet ($16.95): An unexpected find in a tiny jewelry dish, these bracelets could jazz up any outfit. 

5. Chill Baby Pacifier ($9.95): A goofy mustache attached to the top portion of the pacifier makes this pacifier different than most.
