Council to Discuss Formation of New, Free Business Group

The Golden Valley Business Council would help support and connect local business professionals and interested residents

At a Jan. 8 council/manager meeting, Golden Valley City Councilmembers will discuss the idea of forming a new community group called the Golden Valley Business Council.

Gary Aiken, 2012 Golden Valley Rotary president and founder of Tonka Financial Services, submitted the idea to the city council

According to council documents, the Golden Valley Rotary Club is proposing to host monthly meetings for local business professionals, interested residents and community groups in partnership with the City.

The meetings would be free to the public and supported by the rotary club. Each meeting would run for about an hour and a half and have the following components:

  • City updates
  • School district updates
  • Special community project updates, if applicable
  • Community group updates
  • Business spotlight

What do you think? Would you like to see a new business group form in the community? Tell us in the comments.
