Betty Crocker Bakes Cakes for Today's Same-Sex Weddings

Same-sex unions became legal at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, and the Golden Valley brand gave some planning help, according to MPR.

Reid Bordson and Paul Nolle were among the first three same-sex couples to tie the knot Thursday in St. Paul, and to celebrate the historic occasion, Betty Crocker provide a little wedding planning help.

According to Minneapolis Public Radio, Golden Valley-based General Mills, which owns the Betty Crocker brand, hosted a cake testing earlier this week where Bordson and Nolle's daughter, Anna, was able to select the perfect confection for the event. MPR wrote:

"Around the kitchen table, her beaming parents waited for the verdict.

"Anna picked chocolate."

General Mills, which took a very public stance against the proposed marriage amendment last year, donated custom cakes for today's ceremonies.
