Updated: Reports Say Power Outage Forced Transfer of Regency Patients

An Xcel Energy power outage map showed that 50 customers were impacted by a power outage Tuesday night.

Facebook site Police Clips and a Google group called Twin Cities Incident reported that a power outage forced the transfer of some Regency Hospital patients Tuesday night.

According to Xcel Energy's power outage map, about 50 customers in Golden Valley were without power beginning at 4:18 p.m. At 8:24 p.m., the power outage map said "restoration is in progress."

Members of the Twin Cities Incident group said that emergency resources were responding from around the Metro area. On Facebook, Police Clips said that Regency Hospital's long term care facility was transferring patients on ventilators after losing partial power, noting that most patients were headed to North Memorial Hospital.

Golden Valley Patch called Regency Hospital to confirm the issue, but was transferred to the office of the CEO.

A woman who answered the phone at North Memorial Hospital confirmed that they were accepting patients from Regency Hospital.
