The screening includes the work of Minnesota’s newest up-and-coming filmmakers and journalists under the age of 18. Works in the program span a range of genres, from storytelling and animation to public service announcements and documentaries, and more. Youth curators with experience in media making were brought together to determine the lineup for the screening and help organize the festival, including Art High School media arts senior, Aliza Goehner.

The Annual Youth Media Showcase is hosted at the Walker Art Center and is presented in partnership with the Twin Cities Youth Media Network (TCYMN), a collective established in 2000 of organizations that promote and support youth media.
