Wirth Lake Loop Boardwalks Will Be Closed For Two Weeks

Starting Monday, the area will be closed while workers post signs and fix guard rails.

Editor's Note: This news release was provided by the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board (MPRB).

The boardwalks on the trail loop will be closed for approximately two weeks, beginning Monday, May 7. The closure will allow needed corrections to the painted guard rails along the new boardwalks. Trail closure signs will be posted.

The Wirth Lake project is nearing completion and is anticipated to be done by midsummer. Until then, occasional additional work may take place on site. Park visitors should be alert to workers and stay out of closed areas.
