Update On Robbinsdale Sinkhole, Area Roads Are Now Open

The sinkhole was caused by a broken water main owned by the Joint Water Commission, maintained by Golden Valley, Crystal and New Hope.

According to a Hennepin County press release: 

A water main break caused a sinkhole at County Road 81 between 36th Avenue and Highway 100 in late June. Crews have been working on
water main and road repairs and the parts of the road are now open.

Bottineau Boulevard is now open with two lanes in each direction. Both directions of Bottineau Boulevard may now go east on Lake Drive. Westbound
traffic on Lake Drive can also access Bottineau Boulevard. There is direct access along 42nd Avenue to Pilgrim Cleaners and McDonald's and 42nd Avenue
west of should open this week.

The water main owned by the Joint Water Commission, which is maintained by the cities of Crystal, Golden Valley and New Hope, runs through Robbinsdale
to meet up with the water source in Minneapolis. Necessary repairs and inspections were made to the water main and the utilities in the area.
