Southbound Highway 169 Closes Weekend of June 28 From Maple Grove to Golden Valley

Weekend road closures and weeknight lane closures are planned throughout June and July 2013, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

At 9 p.m. Friday, June 28, southbound Highway 169 between Highway 55 in Golden Valley/Plymouth and 77th Avenue in Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove will close. All southbound lanes will re-open by 5 a.m., Monday, July 1.

During the closure, motorists should use I-94, I-394, I-494 and Highway 100 as alternative routes.

All lanes and ramps will be open over the July 4th holiday weekend.     

The $12.2 million project includes repairs to the 7.5-mile stretch of Interstate 169 as well as installing new guardrails and improving bus lanes and pedestrian accessibility.   

Starting July 12 
Northbound Highway 169 between Highway 55 and 77th Avenue will close for four consecutive weekends. The lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. each Friday and continue through 5 a.m. the following Monday. All weekend closures of northbound Hwy 169 will subside in August – weather permitting. In addition, motorists will encounter various overnight weeknight ramp closures, according to MnDOT.
