Once again, hundreds of neighbors and community members will gather at the intersection of Kelly Drive and Duluth Street in Golden Valley to celebrate a season of growing. Growing pumpkins bigger than you can imagine, that is.
The Kelly Drive Pumpkin Growers Association has been growing pumpkins in the area for years now and for the past 17 years have celebrated to see whose pumpkin is the biggest and how much fun neighbors can have together.
The annual event is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. The festivities includes a parade of pumpkins, many fun games, food, tractor rides, photo opps, face painting and more. The parade is at 1 p.m. and the pumpkin and sunflower judging will follow around 1:40 p.m. The fun ends with a Kelly Drive Electric Slide dance off at 2:30 p.m. The event is free to attend.
