Sanitary Sewer Force Main Project Moves East Along Golden Hills Drive in Golden Valley

This week on Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) regional sanitary sewer force main project, pipe crews will move east along Golden Hills Dr and tunnel crews will continue work at the Canadian Pacific Railroad and Hwy 55 tunnels.

Minger’s tunnel crew will finish backfilling the tunnel pit and tie the tunneled pipe into the pipe installed by the open cut crew near the area just north of Lilac Dr on Turner’s Crossroad. The Hwy 55 tunnel crew will finish removing material from the casing pipe, then start stringing force main pipe. Meanwhile, the contractor’s pipe crew will install pipe east along Golden Hills Dr until they can connect into the force main pipe installed as part of last year’s Pavement Management Program on Circle Down. This connection will not be made until the new line is pressure tested by the contractor.

Expect minor traffic control and roadway modifications when traveling through this corridor. Weekly updates will follow.
