Hundreds of book enthusiasts supported the Spring Book Sale at the this past weekend.

The Friends of the  Golden Valley Library sponsored and worked the event which brought in an estimated $5,000.   According to Wendy Bloom, sale proceeds are used for things not typically included in the public facility's fiscal cycle. "With budget cuts, the money raised  by the Friends is so much more important," she says.

In years past, the extra money has helped purchase art for the library walls, sponsor book author visits , and various children's activities. The club sells gently-used books donated by community members.

Donations are accepted at the Golden Valley Library. The next sale will be in the fall.
