The 72-day marriage of Kim Kardashian and Minnetonka native Kris Humphries is apparently over.  The celebrity news website TMZ is reporting that Humphries and his socialite wife Kim Kardashian are divorcing after less than three months of marriage.

Just two days after yet another four-hour rebroadcast of their multi-million dollar August wedding and television special for the E! network, TMZ is reporting that Kardashian will file for divorce today and will cite "irreconcilable differences."

Reality star Kardashian is known for her show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” on the E! network. She and Humphries began dating last December, and the relationship was highly publicized while it played out on the show.

After spending the Fourth of July frolicking on and around Big Island, the couple purchased a multi-million dollar home on Lake Minnetonka just before their August wedding. The exact location of the house has been a closely guarded secret and one of the more talked about mysteries around the lake this summer and fall.

Multiple reports have surfaced in recent months that Humphries' mother decorated the newlywed's Lake Minnetonka home and that Kardashian was not pleased with the final product.

Kris Humphries, 26, was born and raised in Minnesota. After excelling on the hardwood at both the high school and collegiate levels, Humphries has enjoyed modest success on the pro level in his six NBA seasons. He has played for four different teams, most recently the New Jersey Nets, and is currently an unrestricted free agent—although the NBA labor lock out has prevented him from negotiating a contract with a new team.

Humphries led to a state championship in 2002 and was the lone bright spot on a poor performing U of M basketball team in 2004. He left the U of M after his freshman year and was drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 14th pick of the 2004 NBA draft.

In fact, , and his wife, Shauna, were among the many guests at the Kardashian-Humphries wedding in Santa Barbara, Calif.

According to the Huffington Post, things haven't been smooth sailing since their August nuptials. The couple has been busy filming a new season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York," and rumors have been swirling that all is not well in the Kardashian-Humphries household.

Twitter has exploded with speculation about the divorce, but Kardashian—an avid Tweeter—has remained silent so far. She is in Las Vegas today for the opening of her "Kardashion Khaos" store at the Mirage Hotel and Casino.

E!’s Ryan Seacrest confirmed the news in a tweet Monday.  "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning," he said.

Kardashian's marriage to Humphries is her second. She and first husband Damon Thomas divorced in 2004 after four years of marriage.
