Golden Valley Issues Snow Emergency

Plows will begin clearing streets at midnight on Jan. 27.

At about 5:30 on Sunday, Jan. 27, the City of Golden Valley declared a snow emergency. According to the City, plows will begin clearing streets at midnight.  No parking is allowed on any street until plowing has been completed.

The National Weather Service issued a winter-weather advisory for Hennepin County on Saturday. Weather service forecasters also issued a hazardous weather statement, noting that ice and freezing rain could cause dangerous travel conditions.

Sunday's snowfall caused the Minnesota Department of Transportation to classify driving conditions on Highway 169, Highway 55 and Interstate 394 as "difficult."
