Calvary Thanksgiving Worship

Though Thanksgiving originally celebrated the end of the hard work of harvest, the holiday has come to symbolize an even broader sense of gratitude. In that spirit, Calvary Lutheran Church invites the public to its Thanksgiving worship services on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 24, at 10 a.m. The church is located at 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minn.

In addition to music, prayer, Bible readings and a holiday message, both services will feature the church’s traditional procession of occupations—a colorful, creative expression of thanks for the many ways God equips His people to serve. On Thanksgiving Eve, Calvary’s brass ensemble and combined choirs—representing ages 6 through adult—will perform.

“Whatever our current circumstances, sometimes there’s nothing more uplifting and healing than giving thanks,” said the Reverend Steve Dornbusch, Calvary’s senior pastor. “Our Thanksgiving worship services promise to offer just that—an opportunity to recognize and reflect on all the blessings that direct and shape our lives.”
