Join a Public Information Session about Homelessness in our Community

New Hope, MN—August 28—The League of Women Voters (LWV) of Crystal, New Hope, East Plymouth invites community members to a public presentation concerning our homeless neighbors. The program will take place Wednesday, September 25, beginning at 7:00 pm at New Hope City Hall (4401 Xylon Avenue North) with gathering time at 6:30.

In addition to general statistics and information about local homelessness, the presentation will discuss community outreach programs including county, YMCA and school district initiatives. Presenters include Mikkel Beckmen, Director of the Office to End Homelessness; Casey Schleisman, MSW, LISW, Community Program Director, YMCA; Alan Ostergaard, Support Specialist, Youth Intervention Services; Terri King, Title I and Homeless Coordinator with Robbinsdale Area Schools; Jonette Lucia, MMA, Northwest Hennepin Teen Homelessness Initiative. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive a Certificate of Attendance, and POST credits have been applied for.

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a nonpartisan political organization known widely for its voter education efforts. LWV has been an institution in the Crystal-New Hope-East Plymouth area for more than a half century. LWV encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
