September 11th HRC Volunteer event.

It was very rewarding to be a part of the team that helped bag 6,800 pounds of potatoes at 2nd harvest food shelf in Golden Valley. It was the first organized community event sponsored by the Newly formed Golden Valley Human Rights Commission. 23 Golden Valley residents showed up and donated an aggregate time of 46 hours and packaged enough food for over 5,000 meals. The event was designed to bring the community together on remembrance day and to foster the unity we all felt towards one another the days and weeks after that tragic event on 9/11/2001. Please visit the 2nd harvest website to find out how you can volunteer some of your time and help: http://www.2harvest.org
