8 Days until Election Day, issue of the day; Development.

Development:  I will work with others to encourage smart business development and job creation, while preserving quality neighborhoods.

Several large and small developments have been cleared to begin planning and construction in Golden Valley, and more are projected.  I would like to make sure we are doing everything we can to help expedite the approval process, while also protecting the intent of our existing building ordinances and zoning requirements as well as hearing the concerns and listening to the expectations of residents.  I want to make sure our process is not too cumbersome so as to deter business development.  It is also important to preserve neighborhoods and our current property values. I will work to establish a good balance by bringing groups together and encouraging responsible development in Golden Valley. Smart development plans and a well thought-out comprehensive plan attract business and brings desired retail and service options to Golden Valley while creating more jobs, all in an effort to help make Golden Valley a destination city rather than just a pass through city.
