Public Safety: Golden Valley is a very safe, low crime city; I will work to make sure that continues.
I will encourage more public involvement in community watch programs. Bringing neighbors together to watch out for each other. Our first line of defense against crime is awareness; neighbors keeping a watch out for each other and calling the police immediately when suspicious activity is observed.

I will encourage more public and police interaction programs. Bringing members of the police department together with Golden Valley Residents is crucial to establishing relationships of mutual respect, awareness and cooperation. The Golden Valley Police Department offers an ongoing safety education series for citizens called GVPD University (GVPDU). This is an excellent way to go behind the scenes to get a better understanding of what the police do in our community and their day to day operations. Participating in this will also help foster that positive relationship between residents and police. You can find out more about this program here: GVPDU
