Respectful dialog and listening are key to good government. There are always different philosophical ideas concerning an issue; people will not always agree.  It is important to listen to all ideas respectfully, gather all the facts, facilitate a discussion and thoroughly think things through before a decision is made. I will follow these guidelines when making a decision and encourage others to follow a similar process. I also believe in a transparent and honest decision making process. Negative character assumptions, false accusations and prejudicial treatment are divisive and subversive to the proper decision making process and must not be tolerated if we are to move Golden Valley forward.

I will work with the other Council Members, the Mayor, City Staff and the appointed Commission Members to build consensus, collaboration and respectful conversation to create thought-out decision making that will move Golden Valley forward. Resident participation and input is crucial to decision making and I will encourage it. I will build on the relationships I already have with other government officials from other Cities, the School Districts, The Metropolitan Council, Hennepin County, the State of Minnesota, and at the Federal Level to work together for the betterment of Golden Valley. I have been attending or observing city council meetings for several years.  I am familiar with the issues that have been discussed and if elected I will be able to step right in to the position with very little orientation process.
