The winners for the city of Golden Valley's 21st annual photo contest "Views of the Valley" have been announced.

People, places, buildings, landscapes are included in the entries, the main rule was it being a photo of any of those things as long as it was taken in the city limits.

There were three categories to submit photos in: "Natural Golden Valley" included photos of landscapes, flora, fauna, etc., "Golden Valley Lifestyle" included cityscapes, buildings, people, activities, etc. and "Enhanced" involving photos significantly altered by editing software, lenses, etc.

The 2013 overall grand prize winning entry is called "Raspberry Invader!" and was submitted by Sarah O'Rourke showing a close up of a bug on a raspberry plant. The photo was in the Natural Golden Valley category.

First place in the Golden Valley Lifestyles category is Stan Waldhauser for his photo titled "Arches." He also won first place in the Enhanced category for his photo called "Togetherness."

This year's Peoples' Choice winner was Gretchen Mathiason for her entry "Young and Free."
