This free event, held at the Chester Bird American Legion at Hwy 100 and Glenwood Ave, is sponsored by the Golden Valley Fire Relief Association to celebrate its bond with the community.
There will be food, games and fireworks.
The mission of the Golden Valley Fire Relief Association is to manage the Association’s pension and benefits, to advance fire prevention and education, and to support camaraderie among firefighters, their families, and the community.

More About Chester Bird American Legion Post 523
Post 523 is named in honor of Pvt. Chester D. Ptaszek, 35, husband of Alice M. Ptaszek who was killed in France. He was also known as Chester Bird, a translation of his family name. Since March 1948, the Chester Bird American Legion Post has welcomed veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces and continues to do so today.
