Strong Winds Possible Cause of Small Fire at SEA

A small fire that started in a tree on SEA's school grounds did not harm anyone and was quickly extinguished.

On Wednesday afternoon, Robbinsdale Area Schools said on their website that a fire was "sparked" in a tree near the School of Engineering and Arts. According to the statement, the Golden Valley Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.

"The firemen on duty speculated that the extremely strong winds were the major cause of this fire," the statement said.

Though the fire started during dismissal time, no students or staff were injured and all buses were re-routed.
