Sunday’s snow storm may have tapered off towards the late evening, but Minnesota Department of Transportation crews have a long night ahead of themselves.
As of 6 p.m. Sunday the state patrol reported 211 crashes in the metro with 26 reporting injuries. Officials say a total of 185 vehicles have gone off the road and one semi has jack-knifed throughout the metro.
In total around the state, 368 vehicles have gone off the road with 284 crashes reported and 37 reported injuries.
Lt. Eric Roseke of the Minnesota State Patrol says if you must drive, please drive at safe speeds for road conditions and be aware of the snow plows that will be out and about.
If you find yourself waiting for assistance off the roads, Roseke reminds residents to stay in their vehicles with their seat belts fastened.
