The filing period for the Robbinsdale School Board closed at 5 p.m. on Aug. 14. Terms of school board members Helen Bassett, Sherry Tyrrell and Barb Van Heel expire on Dec. 31., leaving three open seats. Basset and Tyrell filed for re-election and Barb Van Heel announced earlier this summer that she would not file for candidacy. 

According to the Minnesota Secretary of State website, candidates for the school board election include Sherry Tyrrell, Andrea J. Bejarano-Robinson, Ron Stoffel, Helen J. Bassett, John Vento and Jeffrey A. Beck.

Minutes before the filing period closed, according to Election Clerk Karylanne Marchand, Peter Vasseur also filed.

The Robbinsdale Area School's website says that in order to be elected, you must be at least 21 years old, a resident of the district for at least 30 days prior to the election, and an eligible voter.

All school board candidates will be included on the general election ballot in November.
