Golden Valley Woman Charged with Assaulting Husband

LaVoris Regina Arrington-Lark is accused of trying to cut her husband with two different knives on New Year's Day.

A Golden Valley woman has been charged with cutting her husband with knives on New Year’s Day, sending him to the hospital with wounds that required stitches.

LaVoris Regina Arrington-Lark, 44, is charged with felony second-degree assault, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, were called to Arrington-Lark’s home in the 5300 block of Medicine Lake Road on Jan. 1 after a caller reported a fight involving a knife.

When police arrived, the victim told them that his wife, Arrington-Lark, was drunk and became angry after she looked at his cell phone and found the phone numbers of women she didn’t know.

Arrington-Lark came into the bedroom with a small knife and tried to cut him, the victim said. He said he was able to grab the knife and break the blade, but he was injured in the process.

Arrington-Lark then returned to the kitchen, came back to the bedroom with a different knife and tried to stab him, according to the complaint. The two struggled, and the victim was able to get the knife away from her again, but he suffered more cuts.

The victim fled the house. Police reported that he had a large amount of blood on his clothes when they spoke to him; he was taken to a hospital, where his wounds required stitches.

Arrington-Lark’s daughter told police that she saw her mother trying to cut the victim with a knife.

Arrington-Lark was released Thursday on a $50,000 bond, with the stipulation that she have no contact with the victim. An omnibus hearing in her case is scheduled Feb. 7 in Hennepin County District Court.
