Golden Valley Humane Society Takes In More Than 100 Dogs

After find them at two homes in Bemidji, authorities transported the animals here.

More than 100 dogs and two cats have been transported to the in Golden Valley from Bemidji.

According to the facility, each will be provided comfort and care, in addition to being scanned for microchips, provided vaccinations and any other necessary treatments."

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office called the Animal Humane Society for assistance after they found the animals at two mobile homes on land near Bemidji. One of the women in the mobile homes allowed officials to take forty-eight dogs from the property Wednesday. Authorities returned Thursday to seize 59 dogs and two cats.

The first 48 dogs that arrived at the Animal Humane Society will be evaluated early next week for placement. "The remaining 59 dogs and two felines seized from the property will be held at Animal Humane Society pending development of the case," according to a news release from the Animal Humane Society.

The facility is expecting an additional 75 dogs this weekend from area shelters that are overwhelmed.
