Editor's Notebook: New Girl on the Block
Introducing the new Golden Valley Patch editor.
Hello, Golden Valley!
My name is Val Engler and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new editor of Golden Valley Patch. That means I’m your new go-to girl for all things Golden Valley.
My husband, Aaron, has been working for Golden Valley-based companies including Border Foods and DelaGet for the last 15 years, so I’m no stranger to the community.
I’ve met Aaron for countless lunch breaks in Golden Valley Commons. I’ve splashed in Wirth Lake with my 9-month-old daughter, Ava. I’ve explored the endless bike trails in Theodore Wirth Park. My tabby cat, Ruby, was adopted from Golden Valley’s Animal Humane Society and I just recently attended a wedding at the beautiful Golden Valley Country Club.
But I won’t pretend to know everything about the community.
I want to report on news that matters to you. I want Golden Valley Patch to be your community resource. I want you to get involved. The problem? I’m just one person. That’s where you, the reader, come in. If you have a story idea, or if there’s an event that you think Golden Valley Patch should cover, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with me at val.engler@patch.com.
I look forward to hearing from you!
