A Drive Thru Blessing on Ash Wednesday?

A church in Ohio is trying something new on Ash Wednesday.

A church in Ohio is offering an interesting option for Catholics on Ash Wednesday: a drive thru blessing.

People can pull into parking lot, receive ashes and a blessing and they don’t even have to unbuckle their seat belt.

Rev. Patricia Anderson Cook will be in the parking lot of the Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church ready to bless all who drive in. The church, near Cincinnati, is offering the service to busy people who might not have time to attend a full mass.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Christian season of Lent, which marks a period of prayer and fasting.
