Tonight, Friday, Nov. 16, over 90 middle school and high school students, many from Robbinsdale Area Schools, will be participating in Sleepout for Homeless as part of the Parish Community of St Joesph's community awareness, for homelessness in within our community.
Teens from across the seven cities will haul their cardboard boxes to the corner of 36th Ave & Boone and set up camp for the night.
Not all are members of St Joe's, many come because they heard about the event from friends and thought this would be something worth doing. Some kids know of others at their school who maybe homeless from time to time and are doing this to support them and help raise funds to help the shelters & food banks.
The teens will also be collecting non-perishable foods for PRISM - so if you are in the area, please consider swinging by and donating what items you can, they will also collect monetary donations that will be passed along to local charties supporting the homeless in OUR community
