Robbinsdale Area Schools School Board Adopts Sequestration Resolution
Members of the Robbinsdale Area School Board adopted a resolution at Monday evening's school board meeting urging Congress to act on the Budget Control Act of 2011 to avoid further cuts to education.
Working with the Robbinsdale Legislative Action Coalition, the school board wants to raise awareness with members of Congress of the impact sequestration will have on the Robbinsdale Area Schools if action is not taken and the budget cuts take effect.
The cuts for Robbinsdale schools alone total almost $500,000. Every one of our nearly 12,000 students will be affected because of cross-over subsidies from the general budget that are generated to fill the gaps made to valuable programs that support our most needy students.
